Anticipating the first interview...

"Hi there - pleased to meet you! My name is... Is this a good time? I'm thinking about making a short film on the Happy Valley campaign, and people tell me that I really should talk to you..."
I've got my first interview coming up. Is it a real interview? Well, I guess not - no security guards to refuse me access, no cameras rolling to record fessed up questions. But there will be a pad, a pencil, a person, a potential story, and me. Nervous, sweaty palmed, - silly, isn't it? But it's a bit nerve-wracking - how is it best to extract a story? We've been lectured on this. Let 'em talk. Smile encouragingly, making 'hmmm'ing noises. Let them fill the silences. Unfortunately, leaving silences for others to fill is not my strong point (don't you find them uncomfortable?!) so this is going to be some challenge.
After my run-in with Peak Oil the other day, I enthusiastically threw off an email to Happy Valley occupation-team-leader. Two days later, an enthusiastic reply. Would be delighted to meet up. Have loads of photos to show. Would love to talk about it. No problem with getting a ride up there.
And suddenly my secret wee musings about a potential film have snowballed. I'm almost regretting letting it escape from my head in a moment of fury...it's real now. I'm committed to an interview and all it entails. I feel Onekakara Films (I decided it would be a goat kid, right?) stirring and testing it's flimsy legs.
